I am proud to announce that Texarkana Parent Magazine is now a member of the Parenting Media Association.

I met with several publishers and editors of the organization in March and enjoyed talking shop with all of them. They offered insightful information into the industry. I look forward to actively participating in their organization and learning as we grow!

Smart Mom’s Toy Box: 10 Games for the New Year |

Our local Learning RX shared this online article with me today. It gives parents great resources and idea for learning activities with children of all ages. There was a great article on there for mom's of infants to help stimulate the babies and develop their attention span. Another resource in the article gave parents of children with autism and sensory disorders 21 games to play. Check it out, and thanks Learning RX for sharing.

Valentine Shirts

I was slightly behind on my "list to do" and as I put the kids to sleep I realized..."THE VALENTINE PARTY WAS TOMORROW!"

So, I ....
1. used extra fabric I had in the house to cut out hearts
2. used hem tape to attach the hearts to plain white t-shirts.
3. ironed the hearts on the shirts.

...I thought they turned out pretty cute! (and practical)

From the Cubby Hole...Valentine Cards!

It's crunch time if you are getting valentine cards ready for school parties, and here are a few ADORABLE ideas I just happened to run across today :) There were several others that I had hoped to snap pictures of, but...my kids tore into them for the treats before it happened!

My personal favorite, I'm Nuts and Bolts About You! (The belly of the robot held a piece of chocolate)

Flower with Sucker (construction paper made flower holding a sucker)

You're Out Of This World! (Construction paper wrapped crayons to look like a rocket)

Bear Hugs For You (teddy bear cookies in treat bag)
Valentine I'm Over The Rainbow For You (colorful note with rainbow glasses)
